Norton Hill Primary School is a completely brand-new primary school in Norton Radstock to accommodate for the great number of children locally due to lots of new housing in the area. The new school opened its doors for its very first intake of children in September 2020. The completed project cost around £10.9 million and is a three-form entry school that has been funded by the department for education. The school has a collection of top of the range sports facilities, two indoor sports halls, dance studio, 2 large football pitches for football and rugby and a hard surface pitch for basketball, tennis, hockey, football and netball.
Whilst teaching the standard literacy and numeracy, the school will also be including forest school and outdoor learning in their curriculum. Additionally, the school will be teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) to the students from reception.
The school will be for ages 4-11 and will cater to all abilities, backgrounds and needs and will focus on providing educational opportunities within an environment that promotes aspiration and achievement.
A.P.E was invited to work on this all-new school which they installed Intruder, Fire, CCTV, Access control and disabled refuge to this completely new built school. APE worked to the government specification for school safety and security and ensured it was completed to the highest standard.
